I would try to figure out why the high side pressure on the compressor is causing the relief valve to pop. Do you have a gauge set? What is the high side pressure? You may have over-charged the system when you added R-134a. (Is this a R-12 conversion?) Also there might be some blockage in the new condenser you put in. Was the reciever-dryer replaced when you had the system opened up? It could be clogged with moisture. Was the system pumped down with a vacuum pump before you charged it? You need to do more diagnostic work before you swap out the compressor.
