goes to the lock motors on the Brown White wire and the violet wire is gnd..
When unlocking : the power goes from the central locking unit to the lock motors on the Violet wire and back to ground on the Brown white . This polarity reversal causes the locking motors to run in the opposite direction unlocking the doors .
I suspect when you connected the new door lock it was already in the locked position and the others were unlocked .
Test the new lock by disconnecting the wiring plug for it and putting battery (just for a second or less) across the Br-Wh & Violet wires . If it does not operate try reversing the batt .
Once you get it "in phase" with the other locks , it should not blow the fuse unless the wire or motor is grounded to the metal door somewhere .
Good Luck .
