Using different oils wouldn't cause problems; synhetic and natural oil are compatible with each other. Synthetic is obviously better, but natural oil is fine unless it isn't changed often.
Describe your "blow-by" symptoms. When does the smoke occur? On accelleration, after idling for a bit? On decelleration? Bad valve seals can cause smoke on startup, but a classic symptom is smoke on decelleration (closed throttle causes high vacuum, which sucks oil by the valve seals and into the combustion chambers). Test by going down a hill in as low a gear as possible with the throttle closed (have someone follow you to report the results). Blow-by is caused by worn rings; the classic symptom is smoke on hard accelleration.
I'm wondering if it's the turbo seal. Classic symptoms are smoke on accelleration after idling for a bit, or just gobs of smoke if it's complpetely failed.
