Sorry, but your last post doesn't make much sense to a newbie. I did find and remove the fan controller and as long as it is out of the circuit, I loose the short. My controller does not look like the one described on Quaisi's site. Mine is a flat unit that appears to be all epoxy sealed. I was able to dig out the epoxy around where the wores go into the unit and there appears to have been some previous soldering don in here. There is a small resistor soldered across two of the leads. If I test between the green and balck wire on the controller, I get a direct short....I gues this is the problem and don;t really see a way to fix it without buying another one....am I right?
Where do I get one of these things?
