Let me know what you decide on, I'm in pretty much the same predicament w/my '96, think I can limp through this summer but will definitely be in need next spring. I've got the pilots as well. I've got a '94 that had Bridgestone Potenza's (205 55ZR16) on it when I got it. I've got the invoice, the original owner bought them through Costco for $107 a piece. But in Los Angeles. I've only put about 5k on them so far so I can't attest to their longevity. I'm also not exactly Emerson Fittipaldi when it comes to driving these Vt roads,(freakin' frost heaves!) so I'm admittedly not the best critic when it comes to tire performance questions.
Good Luck
