Armor-All is a preservative, not a means to alter the spread of a cracked dash. I've used it regularly on every car I've owned in the past 30 years since introduced--on dash, plastic panels, engine components, tires, and rubber insulation--and have had only one problem: One of the original vinyl seat covers on my '66 Corvette started cracking two years ago, and both were replaced. The plastic dash is still in excellent shape after 36 years, and the general quality of plastic materials on that car is not exemplary. It also still has much of its original rubber insulation still intact.
The idea is to use Armor-All or other silicone-based preservative on plastic and rubber parts to delay or prevent cracking due to ozone, heat, and ultra-violet exposure, not cracks caused by over-stressed components.
