I just called the dealer when I saw your posts regarding the heater core. He says it's a whole lot "deeper" than the area for the blower motor and would require a lot more time and work. He also said he didn't see any reason to deal with the heater core if we can't "smell anything", like a burning smell. I explained that if it was the original heater core, I'd rather pay to have it done now while I won't have to pay the additional labor, but he said it didn't make sense. When I mentioned the recall (due to the leak onto the SRS) he said he hadn't seen one leak yet and he'd had them out there for years. (Mine's a '94CSE.) I think he just doesn't want to deal with it. As it is they appear to be unable to even get to replacing my blower motor today (ugh!)...they're busy trying to chase down the source of my SQUEEEEEEAKING brakes (which has occurred ever since they replaced the front rotors and pads.)
I sure hope this 9000 CSE isn't going to be an endless battle!
THanks again for the advice. But boy...these guys do NOT like to hear from a woman anything about what needs to be done to a car!
FRUSTRATING!
Thanks again, guys!
Julia
