first I would concentrate oin the brake caliper. since you say sometimes you must apply the brake several times- that is an indication of a freezing piston. the solution is probably the removal of corrosion on the caliper piston and bore. remove the caliper, carefully fully collapse the piston into the bore. Back out the emergency brake adjustment. Clean as much corrosion as possible from the bore then carefully extract the piston. With fine wet or dry paper 600-2000 polish the bore to remove the rust and salt corrosion. Wash out with brake fluid and blow clean. clean the piston carefully inspect the seal or replace it. If the seal has any evidence with shiny grovesacross the seal replace it. Lubricate the piston/bore with brake fluid or ester assembly oil and reassemble bleed the brake lube the sliders and the brake lever see if that doesn't fix it. The ABS light could be just some trash in the sprockets but a momentary differential failure to release will trigger the motion sensor remove the sensors and blow out reinstall and should be ok. may wish to do same cleaning to other calipers.
