First off, it probably isn't the turbo. Turbos have their own definate way of dying, and not only do they usually give LOTS of warning, that's not the way they die.

My first guess is that a hose fell off. That simple, that simple to fix. Open the hood, and look for a hose that has fallen off. If nothig obvious shows up, start grabbing hoses and make sure they're on. Don't forget the big, fat hose that goes from the AMM to the Throttle body. It's very common for that hose to come off, and that will give some really bad performance. If it comes off all the way the engine won't even idle, but if it comes off a little and creates a nice, big vacuum leak, you'll have a rough, varying idle and no power.

If the car is in anyway driveable, go ahead and limp it home. You probably aren't going to do any more damage. And my guess is that it's pretty simple.

Does the engine sound like it's missing? That might be a sign of a bad DI Direct Ignition) cassette.

It would be good to have some more information. You were driving along, then 'something happened to my throttle/turbo' At mild acceleration and 30 mph, you've got no turbo. What did it feel like? Did the revs drop, or did the pedal suddenly feel different, or did it take a lot more foot into the gas to keep it running?

What does the turbo boost gauge say? See where the gauge sits with the car off - right at that line between the green and yellow. Start the car - does the gauge move? It should drop down, indicating engine vacuum. If it doesn't move, you know you've got a hose off.

Good luck!
