What timing cover sealant?

I have Permatex 3H which I've used on VW engine case halves. I was wondering if this was suitable for the timing cover. I see people recommending the loctite 518, but looking over the specs on both companies web site, I can't tell the difference. The Haynes only says "suitable sealant".

I have 201k, and needed to do a head gasket. So I am taking care of the timing and balance while I'm there. I'm glad this didn't grenade before now.

The site sponser, eeuroparts.com, has been a great help, and seems to have good prices. I also used them last year when I needed the heater fan and the 200k service parts.

And, as a side note, for people with 9000's that need the interior door lights, eeuroparts can special order them new, for under $14.
