Dave, have just replaced all the balance and timing chains, sprockets, tensioners, guides and head gaskets....mine is a '94 model (B204 Engine) with the supposedly harderned steelworks but upon inspection the balance shaft exhaust sprocket had worn down all the teeth! The chain links had resultant 'flats'....although the timing gear was not worn much. My car had done 130K, so you at 150K should also replace all. The dealer will charge you the earth, both for labour and parts....I would recommend you do it yourself, if your mechanically ability permits. You can get genuine saab parts cheaper at eurocarparts.co.uk but if you are in the US, then try EUROPARTS? This job requires patience, It took me 4 weekends with some unforeseen problems like broken studs in head, etc. but the end result is most satisfying....the car purrs like a cat and goes like a space shuttle! Do not hesitate to contact me for further advise or details in this respect.
