AUTO TRANNY******HELP Posted by Rob [Email] ![]() ![]() |
Hi everyone,
I need some help on my wife's new to us 93CSE turbo auto trans w/ tcs 63k miles.
I find that the trans shifts hard (jerks/clunks) not banging no metal on metal sound but you definately know when it shifts. It actually shifts better when you push the gas pedal faster. The shift is also delayed between 3rd & 4th gear it shift at about 60-65 mph and agian it clunks. There are no problems while slowing down and once a gear is engaged its smooth and not slipping.
People suggest the kickdown cable but how does it look on an auto and how do you adjust it? (where and how mush slack if any)
I did the band adjustment already.
I want to do the springs in the accumulator but does the townsend info cover my model car I find there is confusion on this BB about what cars their fix can work on.
Will some plastic balls, discs fall out just by doing the accumulator springs? (some people say yes)
How about motor mounts if they are shoot how can you tell and can they cause the harsh shifting?
Also how about the valve body springs, is that Townsend fix also for a 93 auto tranny and if so does someone have the spring part numbers my Saab dealer can not seem to find even a picture of the valve body springs.
Thanks alot to everyone
I hope I can get this fixed w/o replacing the tranny. I find it hard to believe that an old music teacher in florida that only puts 6k miles on a car per year could have blown the tranny but you never know, all in all the car is near perfect so many people have thaught its a new car, super clean and all went to a Saab dealer w/ saab parts!!!!!!
