rough idle on startup! HELP!

i've got an 88 9ks w/ 143k miles, its been running great up until recently when i noticed that it didn't have full power when i'd start up if it'd been sitting for a few days. once i'd get into 3rd gear it will run smoothly though. only now its gotten worse, and almost won't start!! my volts went down to 10.1 before the engine FINALLY turned over, and my rpm's fluctuated between 800 and 1200, at the lower end the car begins to shake then go back up to 1200. once again though, once i get the car going and into 3rd gear it runs smoothly. it seems to be worse when its raining though, could there be some contacts or wires that are getting wet that shouldn't be?
i'll take ANY help on this one!!
