Hi all,
So after I broke my last car a few days ago I was pretty upset. Mostly felt foolish and humiliated. Since I just graduated from UMASS @ Amherst I got some dough and some of it I spent on an 89 9k T Auto.

Now, the tranny is brand new, but I hate automatics. My loathing of the auto box is not because of the slight reduction of power but becuase I don't know how to drive auto. You see folks, I don't know how to corner at higher speeds with an auto, or how to pass cars on the highway with an auto, most of all I don't know how to slow down with an auto. It is for this reason that i want to convert it. I mean I DO have a donor car (86 9k) so I have the linkage, etc but I would like to a newer, remanufactured tranny.

Can some one from MA or New England respond (Zeke, Sully I'm thinking of you) and let me know some options for a source of a 5 speed and other details. If you want to contact of the board my email is
