I have seen these same problems that you describe. Only one of them I'm still working on and that's the stalling while I'm pushing in the clutch to slow down for a stop or to set to a lower gear. The other problem you describe with the funky idle problem is probably related to two or three things. I had that problem a while ago and fit it by doing the following things:

1. I replaced the AIC Valve located between the intake manifold and the valve cover on top of the engine bay. It's about the size of a D cell battery, maybe longer. I tried cleaning it a few times but, the cleaning would only last for a day or so then the problem would just come right back. New ones cost about $100. Also pay attention tio the hoses attched to this item, probably a good idea to replace them as well, though they shouldn't cost hardly anything.

2. Vacumn leaks are a mutha I tell you, I replaced all the lines with Silicone hoses for like $35 and that help aslo as this stuff doesn't get old and roted like the cheap $2-3 dollar stuff does. Well worth it.

3. Clean out the Throttle boddy if you haven't already done so. remove the intake hose from it and look in there and clean that mess off of the butterfly.

4. Throttle Positioning Sensor or TPS that's attached just in front of the T-body, sSome say this can be a problem. I know that if you loosen the small bolts that hold it, then give a turn back and forth, you should be able to hear a sound(click!)that lets you at least know it works, there also some other adjustments to that part that I'm not VERY sure how to do. Others here will know I'm sure.

5. Deceleration Dashpot? This sits behind the T-body and looks like a small spining top kind of thing with a spring wrapped around it. Open the throttle by hand, then press down of the Dashpots' small plunger. You should have some resistance. If there's none, this part is bad, and it's allowing the T-body to close to quickly, that will make the car stall. Open it again by hand then release while looking at the Dashpot, does it snap shut? or does it come to rest easily after about 3-4 seconds. The later is what if should do. They're about $40 as well.

Most of the time though these parts DO check out to be fine, just not adjusted correctly, mine weren't so I replaced them all.

Hope this helps,
See Ya,
Phil
