I have a '95 CS with the same problem. If you heard a grinding sound on the windows last trip down, it's likly the cable jumped the pully. Coming out of each side of the motor drive housing there are plastic sleeves. On my car one of them broke apparently reliving pressure on the cable enough for the cable to pop off the pully. I repositioned the cable on the pully and did get the window to function for about a week. The unit needs to be replaced. the Saabsite had the best price @$153 plus shipping. With an extra set of hands you can get the window back up by actuating the up switch as you pull. It will come back up but watch your fingers! Getting the interior pael has only one trick. Pull all screws and expansion clips and free the top of the panel by rotating the panel colock wise and counter clock wise. Trick part. Once loose remove the mirror selector tab by pulling straight out. With a small narror screw driver like an electricians straight slot slide the foam seal aside and with a flash light locate a plastic tab. The opening is asymtrical so go into the larger side. gently release the catch tab and free the door. Pull the door release perpendicular to the door and gently pull and rotate the panel pull out about 10" and disconnet the electical connectors for the mirror switch. Disconnect the power supply from the windor regulator remove the three retaining bolts on the regulator body and remove the entire unit. My window stayed in place in the up position but you may not be so lucky so watch your fingers. I would recommend having some assistance so that the window can be held in place while you remove the regulator assembly. Also watch the edges of the door frame as mine were sharp so you should were leather gloves. The people at the Saabsite talked me through the removal process. I'm sure they would extend the same support to you. Good luck! The saab site URL is noted below. I have no alliance with them and there new part price matched what I found in a NJ junk yard.
