In back (firewall side) of the transmission

The servo is a piston that squeezes the C' brake band. It is accessed through a round o-ring sealed cover held in place by a circlip. The cover is about 2" in diameter and is located almost in the back of the transmission case almost directly in line front-to-back with the vent on the valve cover and about an inch below the cover sealing surface.
Unfortunately, the manual states that if you have ABS, the transmission has to be removed from the car to change the o-rings on the plunger. If you succeed in loosening the circlip, it takes a reasonable amount of force to push the cover back into place to replace the clip. There is, of course, a special tool for this, but one could be fabricated relatively easily if you know what the OEM tool looks like.
