I took my 9Ks auto into my "indy" for much needed work. First, I must proclaim that he exuded an aura of confidence. (which is good, because the last 3 guys who have worked on the car have done more damage than good) He fixed the A/C which was dead and needed to be changed to R134. (Reciever/dryer, connections, charge), replaced the auto-tranny filter and fluid, the oil-filler tube, oil level seal, and Oil pressure switch. (leaking) Cost? $770CDN...($385USD) A/C is great, and now I can clean my driveway. Not only that, but the "check engine light" is off for the first time in 3 months. He must have nudged something by accident. The interesting thing is that he didn't spend any time lamenting about what might be wrong. He only works on Saabs, has 5 bays and actually fixes it. Apparently, rebuilding the coompressor for the a/c isn't required. He said that the local wisdom of the A/C mechs is that by replacing the fittings, reciever/dryer and flush/fill, it will last for several years. After that, recharge. Good news aye? By the way, I'll never forgive the Red Wings for closing out Vancouver in the NHL semis/
