I did this on my '96 Aero and documented it on my web site (link below - see under "Fuel and exhaust systems"). It's not terribly difficult to get to and I recommend taking it out to clean it. I initally tried cleaning it by squirting stuff down the hose from the throttle body, but there is no easy way for the dirt to escape.
It took me about half an hour, including taking notes and photographs.
