When I bought my last car - a "Doom Blue" (Embassy Blue) '90 2.3CDT with manual transmission, TCS and no air con, it was the only 2.3T I had found that I could afford (just) at just under £8K (they were originally asking for £9K).

When I was looking for an Aero 18 months later, having driven around for a few days with all the windows and the sunroof open because of the heat and lack of air con, I got trade-in offers from various dealers. In the end, even though dealers commented on its excellent condition (I had done a pretty good job of reviving the paintwork after the previous owner's penchant for automatic carwashes) I got less than £3K for it because it was a CD, wasn't an auto and didn't have air con.
They didn't mention the colour or the TCS, though.

However, I did end up paying £11K for the Aero (again, I did some hard bargaining and left without buying, only to have the owner of the dealership ring me later to re-negotiate). I've got over my fear of buying Saabs from non-dealers now, largely thanks to this board. I can't imagine replacing my Aero, but if I have to, I'll be looking for a car at a sensible price.

Interestingly, I also drove an Aero auto from the same dealership (in "dog-cock red"?) and it died on me. The salesman came to rescue me in the car I now own. Wish I could remember what the "check engine" light was flashing as I sat at the side of the motorway in that car.

The day I arrived to pick up my Aero, someone else was returning the red one, complaining that it had left him stranded on his first day of ownership...
