Important facts about 9kt transmissions...

As some of you are familiar with my previous posts reguarding the demise of my 88 9kt tranny (5speed), I will not go into details. Suffice to say, I got the incorrect one for my year 9kt. When the tranny was installed I found a problem with my turbo. After I checked here first, and received numerous responses for which I am greatfull, they were wrong. I am not mad or disgruntled, I chalk it up to a learning experience. Here's the thing: The new tranny was coded for an 87 9kt which is slightly different. One of the differences is that the end cap does not have a shift indicator switch. I was told this shouldn't make a diffenence... well it does. After swapping end caps my turbo now works flawlessly! (everything else was checked prior). I don't know why it didn't show up on any schematics you guys were looking at, however it is integral with the turbo computer.
So if you happen to do a tranny swap, make sure it has the shift light switch installed!
Again Thanks for all the help from all you guys, diagnosing my turbo problem would have been 'hell on wheels' without you. I still think you are #1 in my book (which didn't say anything about the switch either).
