frothing occurs and the froth "siphons" out fluid if you are on long trip this siphoning can lower the fluid level and the transmission could overheat. Your first indication is fluid coming out the vent area on top of the pan. It happened once to my car when I had the TX serviced by a quick oil change place, they filled it to the max at 80 C mark when the transmission was cold. Fortunately, I smelled the fluid on the exhaust pipe at 50 miles and checked it so no damage was done. The shop drained and refilled again to proper level and washed the under side of my car still going strong at 140 K miles. I really don't know if serious damage would be done but it sure makes a mess!
