Just picked up a 1990 9K turbo (manual tranny). The car runs great but the engine stalls if you put in the clutch while at high revs (freeway cruising).

Of course, if you pop the clutch, it fires right back up. Makes approaching stoplights interesting. You have to watch the tach and ride the engine revs down to around 1200 before putting in the clutch to avoid stalling.

Plugs are new (properly gapped), so is the fuel filter. Car was just smogged and passed with flying colors (way lower emmissions than the state averages). Idles decent at a hair over 1K but does seem to randomly drop to a lower idle, shudder a second and then pop back up.

Since I am new to Saabs, I though I'd ask you all what are some of the obvious things that I should check? I have no service manuals. What should idle speed be for example?
