other components associated with the circuit. installing a much higher drain bulb stresses the SYSTEM, installing a larger (higher amp fuse) just violates your protection. The next thing to go will be either the wires or the attachment where the lamp attaches to the reflector or the reflector will start losing it's plating. JC Whitney never discusses the cons about higher wattage lamps in a street car BTW driving with these lamps in Florida will get you a ticket as they are not for street usage. FHP has orders to check all extra bright lamps and if not HIDs then a ticket is given. Seems some four wheeler had a bunch of 100 watt lamps and caused an accident and killed two children - think about it.
