I had a problem on my 96 9000 CSE T16, seems to be quite common on here, of the main beam headlamp relay not working main beam flash on / off. Symptoms.. The main beam would randomly turn on by itself while driving without me touching the switch, and not let me turn it off. (Once made the driver in front of me very irate!) The switch would sometimes turn the main beam on, but not off again and other combinations. The relay is the large red one in the relay box, and Saab ask arround 40 pounds (60 Dollars) for a new one. Heres the saving.. Remove the relay, prise off the red box cover with small screwdrivers (I cut one fixing tab off with a knife first) and remove the PCB (circuit board) Closely look at the soldered joints that hold the 2 relays to the board. Mine had 2 dry soldered joints (broken and cracked where it should be good solder). These were re soldered, relay re fitted to the car, and worked just fine again. 40 Pounds saved. Hope this helps someone else!
