Hi Kate,
My advice is to stick with the 9000! Unfortunatly, none of the new models seem to compare to the 9k, at least IMHO. I love the hatchback versitility and the turbo rush. The 9-5 seems to be a great car, but with no hatchback and a fairly standard apperance it's just not for me. It's also pretty expensive. The 9-3 is a good car too, but it seems a little dated for a new car, and it's about to be replace by a new model, again without a hatchback! Personaly preference is such that you should probably test drive both cars and see what you think. If I was in the market for a new car, I'd take advantage of the (in)famous Saab depreciation and pick up and '97-98 9000 instead of a brand new Saab. You'd get all that you love about the 9000 in newer and very affordable package along with a proper FPT engine and hatchback that seem to be missing in the newer models.
Good luck!
Craig
