I need to let out a little bit of steam:
SONOFABITCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm under the rear of my car last night in my garage, trying to see what size rear sway bar I have, and my 2 1/2 yr. old son comes in and is standing at the front of the car (since I'm laying on the floor, all I could see were little feet). I ask him what he's doing (since he was so quiet), and he tells me, "I'm painting Daddy's car." I knew it was okay since the paint brushes that he was probably using were the ones that were sitting on my rollaway tool chest, and were dry and meant to be put back where they belong months' ago. So I get all done (BTW: a '98 has 19mm bars, at least in the rear), and check out what he's doing. Well, he must have been bearing down pretty hard on the brushes because he gouged the left front part of my hood!!!!!! He must have pressed so hard down that the metal part of the brushes were scraping my car!!!!! Now I have deep scrape lines in the hood of my car, and a little on the top of the fender!!!!! I chase him out of the garage (actually he ran when he heard me yell, "EVAN--WHAT DID YOU DO?!!!!!!!"), and my wife comes in holding my other little son and asked what happened, so I showed her and told her, and all she does is walk out, as if I was the crazy one for getting so worked up. Not even a, "Ohmigosh--I'm so sorry he did that" uttered to me from her lips. Would have helped a little to know she felt bad, but, of course not.
So, I'm not quite that happy today. Of course, I had to forget it and forgive him last night since he doesn't really know what he's doing, but, dammit, why couldn't it have been her Rendezvous? She couldn't give a crap what happens to that thing. It's just a means of transportation to her.
Guess this is something I'll put down in the books and remind him every so often as he grows up (as my dad has done to me...).
