Yup, the Japanese know how to do detail (or maybe they just care about it). What you said about fuzzy edges is the secret, and it amzes me that Saab doesn't make a better attempt at these simple things. And yes, Mark, low profile tires and stiff suspension really bring out the rattles; Saabs tend to beat themselves silly, I think. See link below for my take on d-rattling. Aerosmith and others took a much easier and pretty ingenious approach: Spray all the interfaces with silicone lubricant occasionally. I think it's better (more permanent) to find all the rattles and use foam and felt to eliminate them, but more rattles will always creeep in to take their place, trust me! If darcyt's Saab really doesn't have any rattles, it'll be the first few-years-old one I've ever heard about!
