...if it hapened under high boost then boost pressure is definetly getting into the crankcase. This is bad as you are likely to blow oil seals, and long term effects can be worse. Check the little valve in the PCV hose, which runs between the valve cover and intake manifold, IIRC. It's white/grey on my car. Approaching the valve from the intake manifold side, you should be able to suck air through it, but not blow into it. Usually this type of valve seem to either work or not, but it might be worth replacing anyway as the human mouth cannot blow out 15psi of pressure to thoroughly check the valve. You could also loosen the dip stick to remove crankcase pressure and try maximum boost, I suspect you won't be able to replicate the phenomenom. All this said, I'm not exactly sure where the oil came from either.
