Hi, Paul. I'll let you know when you're bugging me. You probably have the same sensor, but it might not affect the mixture like it does on Trionic cars. It's halfway (or more) up the big aluminium intake tube running from the intercooler to the throttle body. On Trionic, with no air mass meter, the intake temperature and pressure, along with throttle opening, are used to calculate the mass of air, and hence how much fuel to add. This is why the inlet air temp. sensor on Trionic can affect the mixture. LH reads the air mass directly from the air mass meter.
You need to ask people what can cause a weak mixture on LH injection cars (I think yours is LH 2.4.2?) I'm a bit out of my depth on that one, but things like air mass meter and O2 sensor (lambda probe) play a part. Also air leaks, but that would probably affect idle more than anything else. From what I can tell from reading here, the air mass meter tends to fail with an excessively rich mixture, not lean, but I'm guessing now.
You're onto something.
