and trionic cars. 91-92 and early 93 were strange configuration cars Saab apparently did not really know which way they wanted to go for control of the higher powered cars so there was the Carlson, TSA and the CSTS all around 220 -230 hp but what was controlling them varied.
The air sensor measuring the inductin temp and the coolant temp sensor was common on all these cars the coolant sensor was under the induction log screwed into the intake risers and into the coolant on the back side of the engine- not to be confused with the coolant temperature sender for the gage at the thermostat housing.
so here we go. the curve is non linear so you must construct it from the following: The sensors are different for TCS cars and non TCS cars non TCS has one circuit TCS has two
block sensor. 93 57 021 (NTC), 87 88 200 (TCS)
0C:5800 +/-10%
20C: 2600 +/- 7%
80C: 320+/- 5% some other points are
-30C: 20-30 K ohms
40C: 1.0-1.3 K ohms
60C: 565- 670 ohms
90C: 240-260 ohms this should give you enough points for a good curve.
These sensors are supplied by a 5 volt power supply buffered through a 1 K ohm load in the module. If you wish to check resistance at various temperatures you can afix a thermometer to the charge pipe near the sensor and read it as the charge air heats. you may also read the drop across the sensor at room temp ignition on and you should see about 3.6-3 volts between 20 C and 30 C respectively Did you do the plugs yet? good luck Ed.
