Has anyone made any studies about the failure intervals?
If someone starts gathering info and putting statistics onto a web site I'm happy to give my small share of things that I have changed in which odometer reading,,,
Now situation is like this: how often one should change voltage regulator? - Only opinions available,,, (Sorry everyone, I don't want to pi.. everyone off!!!)
I _think_ there is no recommendation from factory, but several opinions or experiences from the participants on this board... I can tell that I have original voltage regulator that has >210 k miles on it, and I _think_ soon it _might_ need check of condition.
But if we had statistics, lowest mileage, average and highes mileage when the brushes needed change,,, then it might be easier to determine when,,,
Of course this won't be the ultimate solution, since every car is unique, and driving style and previous care habits are causing variations in MTBF of the parts...
Comments? Do we have anyone who is willing to catch the ball?
