I repaired the same thing 10 years ago and last year when I asked it was still holding great.m You may want to repair and save several hundred bucks or what ever your currency is. here is how and by the way I also repaired a leaking end tank on another radiator using similar repair.
FOR THE SENSOR CRACKED BOSS
1. Remove the radiaror(not necessary but I just do things this way)
2. Clean the area with good solvent (alcohol-Isopropyl or Denatured- Jack Daniels may work too!)
3. Wrap the boss with 2 turns .039 Stainless or Monel safety wire (I just happened to have lots of this in my hanger/shop)
4 Goop the joint and encapsulate the wire well with J.B.Weld, slow type (don't get any in the threads or the seal surface. If you do, screw in the sensor with alcohol several times until it comes out clean.)
5. Wait about 30-60 minutes and wipe around the area with a wet finger to smooth up ( makes it look purty!)
6. Clean up with a little wet /dry paper and spray paint ( makes it look really purty!)
7. install sensor with a light coating of "Seal Tite" --(Mfg. Seal Tite by Radiator Specialty Co. Ltd, Toronto Ca. dist. through NAPA in USA)
SAABERS - IF YOU HAVEN'T USED THIS STUFF YOU HAVE MISSED A SECRET WEAPON AGAINST FUTURE OIL AND WATER LEAKS ANYTIME YOU REPLACE A GASKET OR SCREW IN A WATER PART. COMES IN THREE STRENGTHS. ALSO GREAT IN THE HOME.
8. Install radiator and drive with confidence
cost of repair-$3.97 and one hour work. You needed to change coolant any way!
