I have been researching through the archives and am looking for feedback/likelihoods from people who know about fixing base boost (there seem to be plenty here!). A year and a half ago my 92 9kt first had a problem (lost intake bushing) and after the repair I had an idle stumble, especially when starting up, and base boost. Round about the same time my cruise control went out, but I am not sure how close together these incidents occurred.

Since then I have visited numerous dealers and indies who could not diagnose, let alone fix, the problem. I have replaced all of my vacuum hoses with silicone from Saab Savior though there is some question of the accuracy on those which aren't in Quasi's engine (TCS hoses).

I have also found that the APC solenoid was broken. I replaced the solenoid two days ago, but new problems sprung up. Plugging it in with the ignition set to "on" there is not a click but a buzz, but it seems to come from somewhere else in the engine. Also, the R->W route is permanently open and the C->R and W closed whether the ignition is "on" or "off". It seems the new solenoid's valves already have problems and that the solenoid in general may not be energizing properly(?). If the solenoid is damaged out of the box, does anyone have a guess on getting a refund?

Also, if this isn't just the solenoid, will the cruise control be the next most likely culprit or is there a more typical problem? I plan on doing the propane test to check for vacuums tomorrow and make certain that isn't the problem (seeing as the idle stumble resembles a vacuum leak). Thank you for any input!
