Apparrently Saab drivers have a reputation in the ad agencies.. The ad talks about how this gas company realizes that it is not just the car that needs refueling... shows a guy in a classic 900 coing up a dark road, then smiling as he sees the Gas station, and more COFFEE.... :) A responsible Saab driver making sure they are being safe.
So.. have Saabs somehow created this image? Such that Ad agencies use these cars to say certain things. If so, wtf is Saab doing? If other ad agencies use thier cars to promote certain values, then these values must be well accepted in conjunction with the car.
A couple of months ago, was the soap ad, and the two professional returning how from work and racing to see who gets their first. The Saab portrayed an image that the ad agency wanted to show.. professional/responsible....
If Saabs have a known image in the advertising community, why not use it? Why create a whole new image.
..and then there is the new volvo ads touting safety.. .and I've said it before, but if I was Saab, you couldn't shut me up (yes I've looked in a mirror lately) about the 9-5's crash test successes and the awards they have won.. sigh.....
Note that there has been little to nothing said about how the ne 9-3 fairs in crash tests? The ng900 seemed to me to be a structural step down in passenger compartment integrity, and the 9-5 was a step up... what will the new 9-3 be?
