As Shawn says, it's bolted onto the battery tray, on the firewall side.
Step one is to drop the fuel pressure. Start the car, and pull the fuel pump fuse. The engine will quit. This drops the pressure quite a bit, but my preference is to do this trick the night before, and work on the car the next day; the pressure will have dropped even further.
In terms of tools, you'll need the proper spanners to fit onto the hex banjo bolts of the filter, and onto the flats on the filter itself. I *think* it's 13 or 14mm, but I'm not sure.
Next, remove BOTH the positive and negative battery leads. Start with the negative one. We're talking gasoline, metal tools, and a big spark source. Do the math.
The banjo bolts are usually pretty tight. I like leaving the filter clamped to the battery box bracket until I get both bolts loosened. Just loosen them slightly, then stick a cup under the filter, and then unscrew the top bolt. This will drain the filter into the cup. That's a big filter, and it contains A LOT of fuel. Once off, unbolt the clamp and remove the filter.
A bunch of rags are always handy, because I've never been able to do this without splashing some fuel around. And anytime I open a fuel system up, I have a fire extinguisher handy. Just call me paranoid.
Always use new copper washers on the banjo bolts when refitting. DOn't forget to put the fuse back in!
