If you have a stick shift, which it sounds like you do. The upper poly bushing on motor mount plays a lesser roll than on a auto.
The one really big problem with harder bushings on an auto is when you are standing still with drive engaged, like waiting at a stop sign.
The car vibrates really bad and most of our customers doesn't tolerate that. If you press the accelerator and raise the idle to about 1000RPM the vibrations goes away.
With a stick shift you have the clutch pressed anyway so the shuddering isn't felt.
