Hello all,

First off, I would like to commend saabnet.com. This is an incredible resoruce.

Second, thanks to darcyt and 91Aero,jr for their comments. I will see what happens.

Well, since I have gotten so much good info and help from the BB, here goes...

1)I purchased my 9000CD last August (145k). I had my amateur stepfather work on some of the car, particulaly the drivers side foglight, which wasnt working when I got it. He had to remove part of the engine compartment lower panel at first b/c he didnt realize he could take the foglight out from the front by removing the screws(I found this out when I had to replace it again). The problem is this - when he put the foglight bulb in and put everything back together, the foglight was aimed wrong. So I went and took out the entire assembly with the exception of the actual light itself and examined it. Four screws with plastic holding washers for the light fixture, and the two that hold the actual lens in with the plastic ring. Of the four screws, one was missing, two plastic washers were cracked, and one was missing. I took one screw and washer out to see if I can replace them and for the time being reassembled everything else. But the screws for the light fixture don't screw tight when I put them back. Did I mess up the thread? Since the threading is integrated into the spoiler, do I have to replace it? Any ideas on how I can get my foglight to shine straight again?

2)At some point during the winter, my driver side lock jammed up, so I cant use my key. The locking mechanism works from inside by pushing and pulling the lock, but I cant get my key in the outside to set the alarm and lock/unlock the doors. The one key works for all locks. The dealer can change all the locks, or they can just change the one and I have to carry around two keys. Any suggestions on how to proceed here? (can someone make a lock from my existing key?) Or do I have to bite the bullet and get new keys/locks.

3)Once again, issues caused by the amateur. He was trying to replace the belt tensioner (so much trouble for him - I wound up caving in to the dealer's expertise) and had to take the wheel well cover off and some of the right engine compartment off. Well he didnt do a good job replacing it - some of the compartment is hanging off the car. I dont know what he did with the screws/fasteners. I just want to get some more screws/fasteners and re-attach the wheel well and lower engine compartment by myself. Any suggestions on what types of screws/fasteners they are and where I can get them?

4)Which lights on the front panel are supposed to be lit? My clock was lit but went out, my seat heater light is out, and the heat/ac lights are out. The only thing lit in that area is the radio. The panel in front of the steering wheel is all good though. The fuses check out, so where could the problem be?

Once again, thanks for all your suggestions. It is partly because of your love and steadfastness to saabs that I have decided to take more of a personal interest in repairing and maintaining my own.
