Hi Shawn, I just pulled the auto tranny from my '88 9000T. Not bad...the zip lock bag idea is a very good one. Despite lots of nasty bolts it took less than 8 hours. I placed the car jack under the engine and another small jack under the tranny. This way you can feather them up and down to relieve stress. Be very careful that when you finally undo the last bolt between the torque converter housing and the engine that you then pull the tranny straight out with no drop for at least an inch. When you replace the engine make sure you have two hollow pins intact that line up the tranny with the engine. This is key! Also, this is a good time to replace those motor mounts. Good luck!
