Finally ran out of luck...

Well, it looks like on my 5th 9000 (having covered a total of 683K miles between them) I may finally have encountered the dreaded heater matrix ("heater core" for US readers) failure. I have often noticed a slight misting of the windscreen above the vents on startup on the 9000, but it disappears within seconds.
However, tonight I drove the CSE auto for about 10-15 minutes and the little misted patches above the vents didn't go away. There's no smell of antifreeze, but I just drained and refilled the coolant system yesterday with Mercedes-Benz coolant, and it doesn't seem to smell of anything. The coolant level hasn't dropped visibly, but it's only done about 20 miles since the coolant change.
Any other signs I should be looking for? Or is it cut and dried? If so, I'll be putting yet another order into eurocarparts.com shortly. At least I'll be able to add a procedure for this "popular" repair to my website.
