After suffering through a few winters with "all season" tires on my 93 900cse 5 speed with TCS (meaning you just keep going slower and slower until you stop on slippery uphills), I bought four Nokian Hakka Q last winter. Of course we didn't get much snow, but these tires were amazing in the snow. In snowy situations where I couldn't get to before, I could actually get the back end of the car to lift up on braking (I was seeing how they reacted). I have a few commuting areas where acceleration into traffic is required, and have nothing but praise for these tires. They tires are awesome in the snow. I have no experience on ice with them. My 2 cents. BTW, they were very "squirmy" when first mounted, due to the number of rubber bumps (from molding) and the higher than normal tire pressures recommended for these tires. I don't remember the pressures right now (they are on the Nokian website, but they were something like 4 or 6 psi higher than the all season tires). After pumping up thei tires, handling was fine for snow tires.
