Safety System Faulty, and the book tells me to look for other faultcods first and deal with them.
Next step is to check all the vacuumhoses and measure the dump/bleeder valve on false firewall.
You see, that fault code doesn't really mean anything else than a problem is present, which you are painfully aware of already.
Car computers are very crude when coming to selftesting, and especially the early TCS computers.
You might even pinpoint the problem better just by installing the latest TCS computer since that one have a lot better fualttracing program built in.
The very first TCS car I repaired many years ago, only gave me this generic codes, and since I didn't knew that much back then I couldn't figure the problem out.
I changed a lot of the cheap components to no avail. Finally I ordered a new ECU, and as soon as I plugged that one in, several more faultcodes came up and led me to that the throttlebody was bad. And I replaced that one, and installed the old ECU back into the car.
So back to your faultcode, if the mechanic don't know how to faulttrace TCS, the fault code is not really gonna help him.
The same suggestion as always is, replace all vacuumhoses and the grey/black checkvalve. Check resistance at dump/bleeder valve when the car is piping hot ( very important, since resistance goes back to normal when cold) 30 Ohm +-3 Ohm. Clean electrical connectors.
