I bought my 92-9000 with the TCS light on. $1600! I bought it from a used car salesman who said he couldn't afford to maintain it. The car was otherwise almost perfect. It had been owned and maintained by a local MD for its first 100,000 miles. And I got the records from the local Saab dealer.
No! No! No! You can't undo the TCS. At least not practically. However, it's not that hard to fix if you or your mechanic know what you're doing. I came here to learn. 90% of first time failures seem to be the so-called safety valve located on the firewall. It costs about $80, and can be replaced by a DIY in about 5 min. Go ahead and replace the associated check valve and vacuum tubing while your hands are dirty. You may have to go to a dealer to have the TCS computer reset before everything works properly.
If that doesn't fix it, have the dealer run a diagnostic on the system. If he wants your to buy something expensive don't do it. Come back here for advice.
Best Wishes, Dave
