Ditto the vote for SZ-50's. I've had two sets on two different 9K's ('91 9KT5D and '95 Aero) and the performance is stunning, especially in the wet. Very confidence inspiring! As an example, I can take my Aero up to highway speeds (~60 mph) on one of our "substandard" (i.e. slick) Louisiana secondary roads, do a panic stop on wet pavement, and get almost no ABS activity as the car STOPS! It's amazing. Also, even though this Aero puts out about 260hp with its aftermarket ECU, I rarely get wheelspin under acceleration under any conditions, even in the wet. Obviously, full-throttle in first or second will do it in the wet, but it is very controlled even then.
Unlike Quasi, I've managed decent mileage out of mine: 35k for the first set on my '91 and the Aero seems to be doing about 30-35k so far on its first set. I don't think that's bad, but I don't drive as aggresively as Quasi, apparently, so YMMV.
Price on the SZ-50EP's, which I haven't tried, has decreased a bit, now <$140 each from the Tire Rack. This isn't too bad, and I think even at this elevated price I'll be buying them again. They're just too good to pass up, even if other decent tires are less expensive. The tires on my car now got me out of an almost certain accident on wet pavement about a year ago, and that level of security is a big selling point for me.
