My old car died quite unexpectedly (it was a Volvo)so I had to look for a rapid replacement. A 93 SAAB 9000 CD was on offer, 55K miles, two owners, priced at $641 US. (I jest you not.) I went to look at it, it seemed good. Then I found SAABnet and did some serious searching. I was very impressed with what I found, and I also knew what to look-out for. I next test-drove the car (SAABs had never appeared on my screen before, as cars that is) and I purchased it. It had the saggy-baggy head-liner (fixed with new, original cloth for $250 US, with the door inserts fixed for free)and a blocked front-left sun-roof drain (fixed with a quick blast of air).
What a magnificent car it is! Everything works, it's had new brake, gear-box fluids and new engine oil. All filters replaced with original parts. I'd like to thank ALL SAABnet participants for making such usefull information available to a first-time SAAB owner. When this one finally goes, another SAAB will replace it, and this is after only two weeks of falling for my 9000 CD. Even my wife appreciates it, and that's saying an awful lot!!
Cheers, all you contributors, thanks for introducing me to this marque.
Steve
