Amber, there is nothing wrong with a salvage title as long as you understand what it is. It means that the car was totaled in some fashion. This could be as simple as having been in a accident where both airbags go off, or as complicated as being flooded in one of those midwestern river floods. You HAVE to find out the history of the car. This is really no different from buying a car with a normal title. The more you know of the cars' history the better decision you can make about the purchase of the car. For instance, repairing some front end damage and replacing the airbags could, if done properly, result in a fine car; cleaning up a car that had been flooded can result in a constant series of electrical problems which will never go away. If you can not find any history on the car, salvage title or normal title, be wary. You can get a real bargain with a salvage title (I have owned two in the past) or you can get stung.
This, of course, is true with a normal title. Just find out all you can about the history and get it checked by a competent SAAB mechanic.
