Took the car out during lunch to check voltage. You were right. The voltage display ranges from 12.4 to 12.7 volt. Gone is the 13.9 volt display I used to know the last time I paid any attention (a few months ago?). When did this happen? I don't know. Now that you mentioned it, I noticed there is residue of dried battery juice in the engine compartment on the hoses below the battery. I wonder if the low voltage and spilled battery juice are related.
One more thing I noticed was when I started the car and toggle display info to voltage, there is a green arrow pointing to the right and a green dot to the right of the tip of the arrow above the "volt" mark. The arrow and the dot are blinking at the same frequency as the SRS light. After a few minutes. the SRS light stay steady while the arrow and dot stay blinking. On my way back, after shutting off the engine and restart again, the SRS light displays the same symptom, i.e. pulsing first and then stay lit after a few minutes. But the blinking arrow and dot above the "volt" mark are gone.
Any insight? Thanks for your help.
