Use utmost cleanliness when working on the tranny. Throughly clean around the cover before removing it. The thin headed bolt retaining the transfer gear requires quite a bit of torque to break loose. I ground the working end of a 6 point socket down so all the hex contacts the bolt head to minimize the possibility of the socket slipping off. When sliding the rubber seals on, wrap the the other seal ring groves with scotch tape to prevent cutting or marring the seal you are installing or having it catch in the wrong grove. Place the governor assembly in the freezer for an hour or so to help shrink the seals and ease fitting the governor in place. The rubber seals should fit snugly in the groves, if not the seal will slide in the grove and fry it's self against the side of the grove while under pressure. Good luck and don't drive fast and/or long in reverse, it's hard on the rubber seals.
