Replaced OEM each time. With and without new rotors (none slotted). Very good pad. As good or better than the OEMs they replaced. My indie has been using them for years too, and he is Saab only.
Last time my indie was working on the car, the pads got busted and he put on PBR Metalmasters. Guess he thought that an Aero would always be driven hard, but not here. We gave it all winter to get seated, but the first time you go to step on the brakes was a real thrill. Almost nothing. Put on Deluxe, and they grab first time, every time. I've never had a noticable fade, but I do not ride the brakes, or dodge in and out of traffic, or in other ways drive like a maniac which would cause excessive heating. The Metalmasters are supposed to be good for that, if not for cold northern mornings. I've never had fade on the Deluxe, or Textars for that matter, when making panic stops at high speed.
Deluxe hold up well too! I know I got at least 80k mi out of the set on my '87. Haven't driven that far with the '95s yet, but seem to be holding up fine.
Oh yeah, did I mention the dust? Very, very little.
