Stuck in 5th gear with the SAAB blues again... long.

The plan was to replace the torque mount(s) and bracket within the next two weeks, and as recommended by my mechanic (alot of movement, especially 3rd gear) after looking at this initial problem himself. If only?
Today, driving to the annual family barbeque (w/my 18 month old daughter)on Rte 93N in MA (Andover) I was having difficulties shifting up or down into 4th gear (not able to be engaged, and when engaged it pops out)? It gets worse. On the way home, again Rte 93, I can not get out of 5th gear -ITS STUCK! The clutch apears to be working, but I can not get it out of 5th gear! WT@!!!
The question; should I be prepared to have to replace the transmission, or is it possible that there is an easy (<$$$$) solution(s)?
TIA.

P.S. we made it as far as Dedham, where, due to congestion building at the Rte 128/Rte 95S ramp, I had to exit onto Rte 1 and wait for AAA. Poor-little Abby took it well. Hopefully Daddy will handle things (if need's to) as well after he speaks with his mechanic on Monday? Cheers.
